To be fair, you suffered from a fundamental failure to understand the nature of Salem. The first thing you should have done was log off. Immediately. Then log on an alt. Some might say you should have started by logging in an alt rather than your main. You can say you don't want to alt bank... You can say you don't want to make any alts at all, but if that is truly the case, you are playing the wrong game. Salem requires the use of alts. It is an integral part of the game. You can decide to play without alts, but understand that by doing so, you are playing a fundamentally different game, with different rules and different consequences. It's a little like choosing to play a Diablo character in hardcore mode while everyone else is playing in normal mode. Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise. Salem involves using alts.

And I was going off of what I knew in H&H, logging off is NOT an instant thing, your character remains for several seconds. So logging off with somebody attacking me was the last thing in my mind.

This also goes back to the fact there was no server wipe after purity was made more difficult to obtain, so the people who had set up and had high purity crops before the nerf have armies of high stat alts so they can DO things like this. And those of us who didn't have farms set up to get high purity crops, have to pay for it.

Alts give a major advantage in such way that they are essential for competitive gameplay. Just imagine if Mushibag had been cautious enough to login on an alt for scouting before logging in on his valuable farming character (Every commited player should use scout alts).

I agree with that it advantage they give is ridiculous, I would rather want playing on only one character to be the most optimal way to play, which it currently isn't.

Your inability to understand the mechanics of Salem doesn't make the game unfair. Logging out was the only solution to this problem. There is not further argument. Whether there was a wipe or not, this could have happened again with 200 humour characters. Hell, the character who killed you could have been just 200 or less. You'd have paid regardless, however, had you understood that running from stronger enemies is the only way to deal with stronger enemies, you would have paid a lesser price.

If you were cornered, any character above your humour level with a greater understanding of the combat system than you would have killed you, btw. Your death does not cite a necessity to reset the servers. Eventually all those titans will get sick of playing due to an inability to change their expectations with the recent purity nerf.

Reading stories like this and knowing how making def sux makes me think why to waste my time in salem knowing I my char will die sooner or later anyway and I cant prevent it no matter how smar or hard I work. ... Log out and create alts thats what I call fun and realistic solution. But building first 3 weeks farming was fun till I realized "all resistance is futile" and fence and baziares is just to prevent noobs at best to get in. I just dont like to be on the mercy to some no life fat kidie who just enjoy destoyng others kids stone castles or snowmans becouse he is bigger.
