Recent events have shown that those who are not member of mob-organizations are defenseless.
The need for law is dire. How can we agree on what laws should be instituted?
How do we get people to become "police"? As things stand with multiple alts and multi accounting
this seems hard even impossible, but if a group of experieced rangers/sherriffs could step up and
start to make things right. All this warmongering and destruction of newly arrives settlers lives and property
is damaging for the realm of New England. (And for my business as trader.) Those who feel they can help forming the laws and
put the law into action, please step forward! Bring down the tyrants!

I obviously do not have the power to enforce laws. As a lonely trader getting killed randomly is bad for business.
It does not matter who upholds the law wether its the Chief or Cole.
I suggest we make an election overseen by moderators to make sure multivoting is at a minimum.
I also suggest that any memeber of the forum/game can suggest laws.

My first suggestion for law:
I suggest that we the citizens of Plymouth become independent og the king/queen of England!
I suggest we decide what kind of governance we should have. (Republic/kingdom)
After that we elect a president or king/queen.

Suggestion for law:
All of New England is subject to the Law and anyone breaking it including the head of government is subject to the law.

All I am saying is that if any of you big guys say you want to become king/president and rule by law and not aribtrary whims Im sure many of us scrubs/noobs will support this. If the Chief could rule by the Law I would fully support him, but judging from his scalping post it seems a bit random. All I suggest is that we should try to implement laws not just random crimes by big guys. If the GH gang could gain superiority and start ruling by law and not mafia methods Id support them. (Not that my support matters much.) Trying to plant the seed of Law here.

So you would support by words? You best be coughing up some taxes to pay the king or you won't get any sort of protection.

I suggest a tax of 10% of all transaction below 100 silver reaching top of 10 silver. All ammounts above that just pay a flat tax of 10 silver. This to encourage trade.
To collect the tax we could have a tax collector NPC in town which people could pay to. The person having the precidency/kingship/queenship would receive this.
How this would be enforced is hard to tell, but I would gladly pay my taxes for protection. An option is to change how trade works and make it more like an AH and have an automatic deduction of taxes.

If however the leadership fails to fulfill its duties the citizens should have the right to rebell.
