I've fit one in both a hovel and a farm house. It took me an hour to get it into the farm house T-T
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Farm house seems to be harder than pilgrim's hovel. No idea why, it's the exact same size. Maybe coïncidence

I placed it on the 3rd try in a Pilgrim's hovel. I did it from the point of view that can be seen on the ss, leaving a little space of floor when placing it. That space is almost the same that the red line i draw and in the same position.

I agree this was a hard task to figure out, but I followed the advice of this forum thread and it worked in like 5 min or less.

Step 0) Make sure you have at least one item in which you will build the stove with, otherwise you have to complete all the steps over again when you are going to build.
Step 1) Take your character slightly away from the rectangle you are placing the stove in. (I noticed when I was right next to the rectangle I could not lay down the sign).
Step 2) Select the stove to build.
Step 3) Hold down the Shift key to align the stove on one axis. (after you have alignment you may release the shift)
Step 4) Hold down the Ctrl key to align the stove on the second axis, and leave the space identified above in the forum thread at the back of the stove. There should be no part of the rectangle area showing in the front where the wood floor meets the rectangle you are building the stove.
Step 5) Sign appears, place at least one item in the Sign so you can build it as you obtain items.

Simple stove in Pilgrim's Hovel? Or only farmer's house?

Simple stove in Pilgrim's Hovel? Or only farmer's house?

Can I build a simple stove inside a pilgrim's hovel?
And do I need to have all the materials in my inventory to build?

I hate this. I hate this more than permadeath.
Placing down a stove in Salem is the most hardcore feature of the game.

My character goes slightly to the side every time I try to place the stove.

I was so desperate that I closed the BDsalem client and opened the vanilla one. That helped straight away. I aligned the stove correctly (as I had a million times without it working) and it worked. It's worth noting that I was positioned differently from the other guy that posted a screenshot. ... I dont think you need to stand anywhere particular. Maybe Im wrong. But I think that as long as you align it correctly in the vanilla client your character will go to it and build. Remember to use shift and control, sometimes scrolling the mouse wheel to make it perfect.

If anyone here is absolutely desperate and is willing to give me some stuff in game in exchange for me placing them a stove, just send me a PM on the forum. I think I can do this again.

The forum took away the right portion of the screenshot.
