homestead spawns

How exactly do they work? i have a friend who just got a beta key, and we want to homestead together. he knows my homestead secret and everything, but we cant figure out how to get him to my homestead. How do we do this? (i dont have my land claimed yet, just a leanto and whatnot)

This would be why. Get a claim stone up then it should work fine.
