Decay off a claim? I have 2 timber piles, one is orange(normal color) and the other is more red(seemily decaying) , I'm afraid they will completely be gone before the 5 days is up to dry it...And they can't be repaired, should I be worried?

Yes, timber piles decay when off claim.

After 5 days no, MAYBE 5-10% of timber piles if you're unlucky.
However if you are several days late harvesting it is a good chance most will decay.
When you are starting out you can't afford such a large pclaim to cover mass timber piles. Back in the day I used to do 30 timber piles off claim, those were the glory days when I had no fear and did everything on the main character.
My advice: Build a split-rail fence (9+ tiles) around your timber pile area that is off claim. Eventually you can expand over it. This will prevent 5 bile alts from griefing you in the mean time.

Thanks, I'm attempting to expand the claim to reach my timber piles right now after I read this.

I would not prioritize expanding your claim on timber piles early on.
How many fields do you have? You should have at least 48 fields before doing something like that.

And then, you should build your timber piles in the corners of your fields.

Fields don't rot your boards.

Decay time also depends on how often the area is visited. As far as I remember decay only happens when area is loaded, that is when there are people around. If you live in secluded area and don't log in often then you might see no effects of decay for a long time.
