Why in the world would you need 200+ fields? Isnt it easier to have.. say.. 10 fields, and just jack up the plenty using a Lime alt?

depends on your availability of lime.. 1 extra field is 100+% extra plus the lime you could put on that to get better returns. PLUS.. you get 1 hay per field regardless of plenty.. 200 fields - 200 hay.. 10 fields - 10 hay

This is helpful but could you explain how to factor in crop rotation? Should I just be planting one crop per field untill the bar has raised to 100%?

That is the most simple way to go about it. Once that crop hits 100 you can either work on a Tier 2 product OR you can push a 2nd bar to 100 and go for Tier 3.

Crop rotation is mostly pointless - just keep spamming the same crop for the bar you want when you are going for Tier 2 crops.

I think crop rotation was back from when the fields were not taking 5 points from every bar except the one they raised.

However for Tier 3 crops, most scenarios involve raising 2 bars where 1 one of those crops will actually benefit from the other bar, so it is wise to raise the bar the other crop needs first to 100%, then pump influence on the 2nd bar using the crop that benefits from the 1st bar so you get tier 2 crops while pumping up influence.

As an example, to get wheat you need high influence on the pumpkin bar and cabbage bars. But if you Did pumpkins first up to 100%, then started working on cabbage, you will be harvesting mostly white cabbage instead of colewort since cabbages also use the pumpkin bar.

Crop rotation is not, however, completely pointless. It can be efficient and perhaps advisable in certain situations, ie.: limited space and significant patience. It is certainly possible to raise all four bars with enough time and fertilizers. With all four bars raised crop rotation comes into play. For example, with fertilizers and time you can raise the bars such that:

Dark Red (Pumpkin): 100
Blue (Cotton): 95
Green (Cereal): 90
Red (Cabbage): 85

With this achieved you plant cabbage; cereal; cotton; pumpkin; cabbage; cereal; etc. Each time you plant, you need to put enough fertilizer for 300% influence. This will maintain the bars. Each crop uses the two highest bars (totaling 195) and produces mostly tier 3 materals.

I forged a strategy of my own with this information.

This will advance influence 1000% in one harvest cycle with Three-Field-System.

Apply:
- 3 Coal
- 1 Wood Chopping
- 5 Hay
- 109 Humus

Harvest cycle (with 3 coal) = 45,8 Hours (61,1 Hours for cotton)

4 Composts/Field should provide a constant flow of humus.
I have 30 fields of cereal to feed composts / gather hay.

Any thoughts?
