Making some silver?

I logged in after awhile of not playing, and I noticed my claim upkeep is at 0. Usually I'd just kill some crickets for a cricket team, but apparantly they run away from you. I tried looking for some feathers aswell, but it seems like there's almost no chance to find one. I looked around for some time with foraging on, but could not find a single feather. So how exactly do you make silver nowadays, as a newbie?

Get yourself a gun or sling. They are needed to aggro small critters nowadays.

Yup.. whack them little critters once with a stone and they go right back to their old ways.
I think people still buy hay. So you may want to keep a small stock of it just in case you run into someone looking for a little.
The feathers are pretty random. I dont actively look for them but pick them up when I stumble on them while doing other stuff.
Another option for a new player is picking the snake skins out of trunks. Sure its slow but it is something that a new player can collect while mapping/exploring and sell without needing any skills.

i agree about the hay selling. i found people buying hay for 6s+ on both roanoke and plymouth, im sure there are people on jamestown too who will buy it.

Check out this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6609But honestly, I'd stick to gathering snake skins from stumps, beating up rabbits/crickets, and making that occasional savage charm.
