What is considered high ore purity directly from a mine? I found a 18% mine, however it was the very first one I tried, so im thinking that is considered low?

if thats your first mine(probably found abandoned) then its high, usually if you don't buy higher purity metal from players and you use 0% rods you can find like 0-2% metal(make another dowsings and look for another one etc.)

18% is a great find. Higher purity mines mean hours of prospecting around to find each node and you usually build about 3 mine entrances on nodes before you find improvement. To find anything above 5% on your first try is really lucky.

This was the first brown spot I came across, so I guess I just got really lucky... I was using a woo woo wand also, if that makes a difference. Anyways thanks for the clarification, any idea's on what is the high end of the ore purity?

In theory, 100%, but I don't think anyone's gotten anywhere near that.

So there are 100% ore nodes out there? Ore with processing you can make 100% metals?

i also have 18% ore rich in sulpher right next to my base, found that with 0% woo woo wand , tried to find another mine using 18% rod later on but i couldnt even see a node, then with a 11%rod i found a 7% copper vein, also right outside my base. so now i dont even bother anymore im happy with i have ***** dem purity geeks lol

ya , u can finds lots of iron mine and wells with woo woo wand but u will not know what purity they are . For copper node , i only found them when using a drowsing rod .
You are very lucky to find a 18% ore mine , quickly place a stake claim to claim it

Thanks very much for the input! I think with this and the 6% water, this will be a good spot to try and survive.

With 40-50% you can get your A&C and C&D to 250~ with some lovers locket. Mix with pure and 16/9 smelts.

Anything over 30% is 'high' IMO.
