im really not sure why snakes will chase you even when you out run them to the point of being off screen. seems like bs to me... ive died twice to snakes since i started and its pretty discouraging. Unless they are a 12 foot anaconda a snake should almost never chase a person, and those that do will stop immediately after seeing that that person has ran. it shoud never chase me until my bile runs dry.

Did you remember to delete your sword from the combat icon? If you don't do that they will follow you forever.
Speaking as an Australian I'm not sure if I agree that a snake will never chase you that far,we have some varieties that think they have some awful big territories.

the game isnt exactly set in Australia is it. even then, im pretty sure a snake wont chase you 100 yards..
i dont have a sword. i had the run icon set...

When you are in combat an icon appears in the top right hand corner of the screen, two crossed swords, you can click on the icon and remove one of the swords, this indicates that you want to leave the combat. If you don't do this the snake will keep chasing you. If you do remove your sword icon you can outrun the snake although it's still difficult to get away.

Depends on the snake with them chasing.

Need to get enders client and just stay the hell away until you can hunt them with no problems

Ok so you complain about the lack of reality in this feature. But you don't care being chased by rabbits or crickets?

The sword he was speaking about is in the top right of the screen. Showing the snake icon with swords. Click on that to disengage from the fight, but continue running. The snake will still follow you but will give up quicker.

If a snake chases you, just run for water. Snakes cannot cross running water, they are like vampires.

Realism vs animal ai I suppose... They act like any other animal when provoked/they agro you. I do agree that some realism in how they act would be interesting to see though.

I fear snakes more than players.

One stutter or lag or missed attack and I have to dump all my raid food and port home for an antidote.

I think with the reactionary AI, snakes are very tough for players now. I wish I could invest some money with the snake antidote NPC.
