weird slotting

To begin with I m not sure which forum this post belongs to. I decided on Help because I need your advice.

I have been doing some slotting today - used 9 admiral uniforms. During the process I had 5 failures slotting lace (80% s/chance) 5 failures slotting embroidery (85% s/chance) 3 failures slotting flagstraps (89% s/chance) and on top of all 2 failures slotting fang (99% s/chance). The only item that never failed was buttons (95% s/chance).
As result only only 1 uniform was made perfect - all 6 slots filled in. Now I understand that making perfect items should be hard but that number of failures at such high chances does not seem right to me. Either something wrong with these success chance numbers or with my character. It does not look as especially bad luck because the whole process took 4 or 5 hours. I also slotted some other items during this time and general impression is that success chance for crap items is much higher than shown. For example I slotted more than 50% seams into farmers pants though success rate is only 34%.

So what is your experience with slotting success chances?

I've probably failed close to 10 whispering snake skulls with 85-95% success rate during my tailoring career.

It all averages out in the end. Also I highly doubt the validity of your thread details, you just came upon 45 sea island cloth in one day to make 9 uniforms and are only now asking questions about tailoring and success rates??

Why you decided that I came upon 45 SI cloth in 1 day? :D
As for not asking questions - my English is not that good so I prefer not to use it if possible.
2 failures at 99% s/chance made the trick - I decided to ask :)

please also note that listing the number of failures is pointless without also listing the number of successes - although it DOES seem you've gotten the bad end of the RNG

since the slot chance is something that is displayed in the vanilla client as well, one can assume that it is the correct value, as used by the server to decide success.

Oh I paid attention to your name.

Did Azor rage quit and you're the new Russian tailor now?

Gearing up for an invasion huh? ;)

50% chance doesn't mean if you do one and fail the next will work. you can have really crappy results becuase of random chance.

Had 13 straight failures of seams on farmers pants with 34% slotting chance. So definitely NOT higher than shown. That's my first cotton ever and i'm starting to really grind my teeth over every 15s lost on these stupid things. Yet, I will not rest until i finally get something better than brownpants.

Upd: slotted on 16th try. I always hated RND and it seems it hates me back.

Exactly this. You tend to remember the failures more than the successes, I reckon.

I'm pretty sure I won't forget wasting my entire first 2 cotton harvests on a lousy pair of pants anytime soon. My advice - do not try slotting stuff under 50% unless masochistic tendencies are your thing.
