I have butchery, butchers thrift and that but no French. I'm having a feeling you maybe need tasty pastries?
can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out. - Battlebug (Sw:tor forums pre-wipe)

pretty sure you don't need tasty pastries since i belive i could get both french and tasty at the same time, not 100% though.

I was having the same problem but figured out I needed basic cooking as well, which is not required for Game Meats. So if you haven't picked that up yet give it a try.
