left click torch, right click lit fire. You can then put that in your hand inventory slot to keep it lit. It will reduce drain in darkness areas and allows you to quickly light smelters/otherfires/ovens.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

You can also light a torch directly from a tinder drill or the other thing, flint and steel or whatever it was called.
