One thing about snakes I find amusing. When does one need antivenom? At lower levels when snakes are actually a problem or a threat. At 20 YB, basically any move can oneshot them, making all snakes laughably easy to kill (and also, delicious). I haven't been poisoned at all since I hit.. 15 YB? Yet now I'm rolling in etterfangs. I can actually MAKE the antidote now.. I just.. have no use for it. Whereas before, I needed antidote desperately and had no way to make it.

There's several methods for killing snakes without getting hit. Some are a bit riskier than others.

As far as getting poisoned every time you're hit... could have swore I got hit at least once and didn't get poisoned. Figured the "poison" was a special attack.
