What if you attuned 2 separate master keys to 1 lock?

Steps: Attune Master Key to Lock on main;
Place lock in crate/box/storage;
Log onto Alternative character
Make NEW masterkey;
Attune said master key to lock.
Place lock.

Would both master keys work?

How i did it:
- Attune keys to a friend
- Log to alt
- Make friend attune keys to your alt
- bingo

Something along that line would be a great solution ,it benefits all types of players from the city folk to a hermit

i think the use of alts to get around it as suggested , is very clever indeed, but overall unacceptable , there has to be a better way and something better suiting for the developers vision of the game

This thing is a bit complicated for me.
Just used "key" and this works..
May be I did it wrong... :)

1. Why and when do I need all those keys - key, master copy and slave copy?
2. How to make single key for some locks?
3. How do I know which key correspond to which chest/door?

1.Because you cant attune a slave key to a lock and if you die with your master key on you somebody could steal it and make their own copy, thus people reccomend carrying only slave keys on your main character.
2.Make new key and new lock, use the key on that lock only.
3.Right click the key to give it a unique name.

Oh, thanks
But why "key" and "master copy" are different?
Attuning always changes a lock, correct?
Can I attune lock after it has placed or replace it?

Would be great to understand as simple table like:
Key - can modify a lock, can be copied to master/slave
Master - can't modify a lock, can be copied to master(?)/slave
Slave - can't modify, can't be copied

Not to forget about this topic, I saw something that could be a problem.

1) I really need one master Key for each Lock? If yes, why I can't have a Master Key assigned to all my locks. If no, so what i'm doing wrong that i can't make a master key work for more than one lock.
Why This? We have only 8 Slots for Keys in one Keyring, so or i make more one Kerying and left it in one safe box(with a lock) or will be better plain make any lock I will made.

2) If i did the lock why i can't make a new key assigned in that lock only by right clicking with this new key in the lock.
Why This? In real world the keymakers can make a key from the lock system or simple get out the problem lock of locked object(with a little job of course).

It depends if you have your keyring equipped in the keyring slot on your character - or just out loose in your inventory.
