Transporting a skeleton.

My guy died in the stocks so it's time to start a cemetery and such. It's possible that I've missed a simple detail so forgive me if that's the case but do I need the actual skeleton for the process and, if so, do I really have to carry this guy's bones over my head all the way home from Prov? He won't go in a frontier sled. Do I need a wagon maybe?

No, you need to carry him, having a graveyard nearby Provi is convenient, maybe make one.
Otherwise the common strategy is to not die in the stocks or through TbC and instead kill the char at your place or your crime base or so.

Thanks hun. This is gonna be fun. One more thing if you don't mind... Is the bonus gained when paying respects based on the actual stats of the deceased upon death or the stats that were recorded with the estate planner?

Estate planner / last wish is for what you actually get instantly when inheriting,
paying respect is calculated on the actual last value upon death of the ancestor, and you get (iirc) 10% of the difference between heir and ancestor every time you do that.
Ofc only doable with the direct heir that inherited the deceased char.
