Best way to stack logs?

so after update months ago i did not play and now im forced to be on frikadel diet.
problem is that logs dont stack in bins and i need lots of them
anyone has found a nice way to stack logs?
also ive stacked some in coal piles long ago but i gues over time they disappear from them can anyone confirm that?

While "woodblocks" do not go in stockbins. The chopped logs can be stacked in one spot as it has no collision hitbox. Which allows virtually no space usage in terms of on demand chopping woodblocks off of them and having a whittling bench near those chopped logs to make the sharpened sticks whenever you need them.

Also, if your coal piles are gone, someone either stole them or you built them off-claim which means they decayed.

Materials in building signposts decay over time for the exact reason of preventing people from using them as a container.
As stated above, your best bet is stacking big tree logs and only chop them when you need them.
