Dark walls when starting a mine ?

Postby Gustyboy » Sat Jan 20, 2018 4:18 pm

Hi,

I built a Mine entrance, and all the surrounding walls are dark hard ones.
I guess it's always like this, and soften walls seems to appear only after the "entrance support area".

My question is : "As time is a factor to find cavedowns, is it possible to keep 1 side in hard walls, wait a few days/weeks, and then have a cavedown just next to the entrance ?".
Or is it useless because there is a "safety zone" around the entrance that prevent cavedowns ?
So should I keep this hard wall side or should I mine it to get more space ?

Thanks a lot.

No, each mine map is different.

not sure what you mean by this
"As time is a factor to find cavedowns, is it possible to keep 1 side in hard walls, wait a few days/weeks, and then have a cavedown just next to the entrance ?".
Yes, you can do that. If you're lucky enough, all your entrances will be very close to each other.

I was particularly distracted when I was originally digging it out, but this is quite probably my favourite mine:

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
