Wall Splash Dmg

Last time I tried making a base, splash damage was an issue. I have looked around and I see that it applies when the wall getting has a wall behind it that is the same or lower. How many tiles must it be behind and is "splash damage" beneficial? Like does the damage even out through all the walls, or does it just make all the walls destroyed at once. Better yet, is there a link anywhere that tells me how this works.

Also you want to leave some space between your outer wall and the edge of you claim. You dont want me to build a wall right outside your claim and splash your walls. NEW walls wont splash other walls as the take around a week to cause splash damage.

I finally found that a little after this post somehow, but didnt say anything because it didn't tell me how splash damage worked for layers of different walls. Im guessing theres nothing different with 2 different layers though. thanks

Walls do not splash stronger walls. That is a stone hedge will not splash damage a plank fence, for example.

Also, if you make a wall-building mistake you can salvage it right away and there will be no splash damage. I use this trick to get around using multiple starter posts when placing more than one gate. Build a corner, build 2 more wall segments, build a corner, then destroy the 2 wall segments between. You can place a gate in the gap, and you don't need a second starter corner!
