Not enough distance, unfortunately. The falling plank fence definitely did some damage to your stone hedge

You need a distance of 5 or 6 to be completely safe, at distance 3 it's still common to get a splash damage

I just got robbed recently too, don't feel to bad, and yeah they for some reason took my keys too. Fortunately, I have spare keys on alt characters & also I keep a spare inside my house.

One time they destroyed my house, I guess they wanted in really badly. Sadly it was a brick townhouse, and those glass panes are a PAIN in the butt to make. They got about 9k silver worth of goods in the raid, not to worried about that but the house, that was painful. I'm still recovering, already sifted through 6k rubble...

Buy a glass pane for 350 silver from the white stall.

At this moment my defence line looks like this:

inside - SS_P_ end of claim
where: S - stone, _ - space, P - plank

How can I improve that? what should be my next step? SS_PS_ or SS_P_S_ ?
Brick wall is not in my range now
