I've been looking for a fertile turkey hen for quite a long time now, I've probably killed upwards of 500 turkeys or more and haven't gotten a single fertile turkey hen yet. Is there something else I should be doing? Is it just by dumb luck I haven't gotten one yet?

I am pretty sure that the drop rate for them goes aproxx 1:300 .
You are on the lower end of the roll for sure.
On the other hand, you just missed the easter even where you could have collected red eggs and get fertile turkeys from them.
Also, unless you have an obscene amount of them, they are not that useful.
Golden goose spawn rate is abysmally low and youll need weeks to collect enough fertile turkey dropings to use it as a fertilizer.

Just keep killing them, you will have to commit a genocide of turkeys but eventually you will collect enough to be useful.

As far as I know, the drop rate for all super-rare loots is 1:500. That includes the fertile turkey.
