when i try to log in ... I go to a black screen forever ... someone can help me ? I tried to use custom clients , tried to redownload the client and restart the computer ... please someone help me ?

Moved to the correct forum. Have you tried doing a forum search for 'black screen'? There are a number of problems you might be having and they have all been discussed here before. It's hard to say what your particular problem is without more information, but if you try some of the solutions in those threads, you'll probably solve it.

I'm always too lenient on the people that don't search this one, mostly cause I remember the command >.>

At the character selection screen, try typing the " : " symbol, which should bring up the console, letting you type in a random spot on the screen, and then continue typing till you put in the command

" :gl meshmode d " , then hit enter, then try to log a character.

If this solves the problem, the actual issue is most likely something with the graphics card.
Either you have an embedded one (intel graphics, most of the time), or you do not have the correct drivers.

Ok so sorry for such an old necro, but seem'd the most relevant thread to continue in.

Case in point, similar problem, login, black screen instead of the character selection menu, it stalls for 30~50 secs and then it goes back to the login screen, I will try to login again in a few hours to see if it happens, if anyone has any suggestions plx help!

But i have tried it on faster more robust connections as well, its still giving me the same issue...

I can connect to the server, and my login session is active, but i cannot see the character selection screen, if it was a matter of a connection problem then i shouldn't be able to login with the server.
