I continue to dig the copper subject and I have found this on the copper ore boulder : http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Copper_Ore_Boulder

Performing the Mine action on a cracked wall in a copper mine will dig away that cave wall section and yield an Copper Ore Boulder. To make a crack a wall, light a fire next to it with a Pile of Wood. A Pickaxe or Shovel is required to mine a wall.

The Copper Ore Boulder can be moved and chipped like any other boulder. Right clicking it to chip the boulder yield Copper Ore from it - 20 Ore per Boulder. Place this ore in an Ore Smelter to get copper.

I thought there are no longer copper mines, all mines given all sorts of ores. Do we need to crack a wall with a fire to get copper ? That could explain why I have never found copper.

No you dont have to. Just keep digging in 1 direction for 50-60 tiles and you will find copper for sure. It is just matter of luck. Usualy when i dig tunel to level edge i get 12-16 iron veins, 4-5 copper and 0-1 silver.

edit: for taking 100kg of bonemeal and 25kg of darkenbonemeal it should have atöeast 15-25 uses.
