Rummaging?

Postby Sveinon » Sun Aug 02, 2015 10:55 pm

Hi again people! I've got a question about the rummaging bonus. How is the bonus calculated when using rummaging gear? I for instance have got 80 Rummaging bonus with my rummaging gear. But how much affect does this have when I am out foraging? Thanks in advance :)

Not 100% sure, but one point of rummaging can be described as 0.1% chance to get two items instead one.

So based on you, you have 8% chance to forage two items instead one.
Or I'm wrong. Couldn't find any clear data on that, so I'm just assuming.

Yeah, I've tried looking and did not come up with any info. But that is a good idea. Can you confirm John Carver?

JC never confirms things, he lets us guess, and when we get close to getting right he changes stuff :(

0,01% added / rummaging point, and the productivity dont affects that.

HA! A chance to prove you wrong at my own expense. Perhaps this is an elaborate troll by Heffernan to get me to divulge seekrets! Anyways. Because I am in a generous mood.

Your chance to gain (2) of an herb is as follows:

Sqrt(sqrt(rummagingpoints * 100))

So for example:

2 Points = 3.8% Chance
5 Points = 4.7% Chance
50 Points = 8.4% Chance
250 Points = 12.6% Chance

Unlike the other skills this one was determine to be primarily targeted to 'noobies' who are most likely to be out foraging random things and/or getting excited about doing so. As such, you can see that I double sqrt the formula so that min-maxing it was much more difficult and arguably not worht the effort while every little point that a noobie socketed here makes a difference.

Your welcome.

As someone who has ~20 rummaging on one of his sets and still enjoy forgaring/scavanging/salvaging the wilds, i´m very happy that i dont need a fully dedicated set to get a huge bonus in finding more.
