Questionable effective pickaxe

Questionable effective pickaxe does the pickaxe ever return to normal.. or is it lost forever?

There were ~5-10 Pickaxe on the stalls for 150 silver. After the update where you cannot mine with wooden shovel, they all disappeared. Cheapest one is 500s now. Glad I got mine, and I won't dare mine while I have any madness.
