Can I do anything with a key.

I found a random key for a base in a log. Can I do anything with it? Like track the base or use it or something?

Unfortunately no but perhaps the greatest RNG in our world could lead your way to his base someday. Don't stop believing

You can't do anything with a key you just found.
Also when keys were cheaper to make people would rename them to leave messages for other people, so it may be one of those.
