Why do I keep losing all blood?

My blood keeps going to 0 randomly, instantly KOing me. I'm not poisoned/have no debuffs/disease, nor am I using any stances.
Whats going on? (I may have been encumbered, not sure; does that effect it?)

If you've been mining you might have a bat inside your neck slot (effectively on your neck sucking your blood, blaaaaa), ctrl-click to remove it then zone out or kill it before it latches on again.
