i get KOd (by rather resilient and lucky dastardly deer...)

i get back pick my stuff

then i get KOd again (same deer... yea, i attacked with my leg broken)

and then when I get back my stuff vanished

is this normal or bug?

It doesn't stay for very long once it's dropped. It's good to have pocket gear. Items in your pockets don't drop and you can port home with Items in your pockets.
