What am I missing?

If your M&M is too low you can get cave-ins anywhere.

Well that sucks it drives my ocd insane when I get a random support I can't remove later. Can't the system be changed so support radius gets increased the more MM you have but everything under it is guaranteed not to cave-in?

Sure but then the starting radius would just be 0.

Why? It still would cost dry boards which while not exactly difficult to make are still annoying and need a looot of time so there is that for balance.

To encourage people to have mining character that are actually skilled at mining.

I don't think the world is there to primarily support your support ocd.

If it bugs you that much just let it cave in and dig it back out. It'll clear the spot.

You can dig it out later and (hopefully) not get a cave in.

The only time I got a cave-in I and I cleared it out I got a cave-in in the exact same spot after is this not always the case? Also how big can a cave in get?
