Board Planing Success Rate

I search the forums and have not been able to turn up any recent hits. Given the regular updates, I thought it would be worth bringing up a new thread, so here goes:

My board planing success has fallen considerably lately. I'm at 190 H&N, and I've even paid for cleansing by the priest (and consequently been very careful about not standing still in town). But if I set out to plane 14 boards, I'll get 5 successes. I remember when I was around 100 H&N I was succeeding as much as 75% on 20 boards. Since noticing this change I've only done about 100 boards, I'll have another 80 coming due in a couple days to try again, but I'll be crossing my fingers, toes, even my eyes, that I get back about 50% success.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or perhaps is there a modified success rate for warped boards versus dry?

RNG is gonna RNG, too small a sample size to measure success rate. Just earlier i got some 20/29 good ones, nearly 15 good ones in a row, thought it was bugged lol. It just fluctuates a lot, from what I can tell.

Maybe we can collect data on the RNG, then? I mean, for me, planting fields it almost seems predictable, like I'll get good plenty bonuses for 5 or 6 fields, then junk ones for 2-4, noting that the time to walk between fields in a row versus diagonal I've learned better "planting patterns". If the system time is the seed for the RNG, then noticing that you're on a "bad streak" might trigger you to wait for 7 seconds and resume the job, or something like that.

I started collecting data once but never followed up with a large enough sample. For what it's worth, I had 47 successes out of 72 attempts with 2 resin. I had 191 H&N with 0 bonus clothing.

I doubt it's possible to figure out how to rig the RNG to work for you. However, with enough data we can figure out the probabilities for things like board planing success, field plenty, and pot yield.
