Influence bars dropping by unrelated crops

I just got started on agriculture and have been looking at the guides to it.
I realised that my influence drops across all four bars no matter what crops I grow. Is this a bug?

No. Influence goes down by 5 on all bars, always.
Influence is raised by using +influence fertilizers and the three field system skill to allow you to add large boosts to it in one go.

Are you saying the wiki is wrong. Example cotton say it takes from bars 1 and 2 but gives influence to bar 3.

The wiki language is just ambiguous. It should probably say is influenced by instead of takes from since any crop takes from all the bars. If I recall, this was considered a bug for a long time.
