Cant seem to figure out fishing and the choices when a fish in on the line, is there a secret to getting it right....keep losing my fish. Can someone explain how the choices work?

Thanks In advance

Hey Heckler,

I am terrible at fishing but saw nobody else posting.

From my experience try not to select the same type of action twice. ie pull right and then pull right.

Other than that fish type seems to be determined by location, lure and actions. The wiki is ALOT better on fishing than I will be at

Location and Lure are the determinants of fish type. Each fish type reacts either positively or negatively towards each command. Easier to catch fish like almost everything and hate little, while the harder to catch fish like only a couple commands and are neutral/dislike towards the rest.

Earthworm + River or Lake area will net you silt dwelling mudsnappers and trunk nosed lake perch most of the time.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

On creeks I've noticed:

1. Think of England + Reel In = Mudslapper
2. Want it badly + Want it badly - mudslapper
3. Pull high/pull low/pull west = perch
4. pull (direction) + Pull hard - perch

I suspect one choice is +1, one is 0, and one is -1... and to land a fish you have to have a score of 2 ... or something like that.
