Magic was rumoured to have been introduced into the game 2 weeks ago. However, no proof has since surfaced so it's expected to have been a hoax. Loftar has stated it will be a silent release, so when it comes out it's going to be a surprise for everyone.

I have a couple questions on Metal Purity... If anyone has tested or can reply... Would be appreciated :)

1)Say you find a pure mine, is it possible to put all ore in a smelter, and yield an iron bar of that same purity without any lime lowering its pure value? I attempted 2 runs or 2 smelters, and all I got back was dross... I would hate to do more runs if someone has this answer, and there is no yield lol..

2)Say you've found 2 mines of the same purity however, the event values of lead, mercury, salt, and sulfur differ, and combine an equal share of ore from each mine will the iron bar events stats change as to reflect both types for a higher well balance bar event value?

3)Does the event value determine the overall quality of any item crafted with that bar or purity? ie... A hammer made from an iron bar with a higher lead event value will have less decay then using an iron bar to craft another hammer of another event value such as salt; but both bars contain same purity levels with different event values?

1)yes, its ~25% chance to get 1 bar of metal from full smelter load with no lime.
2)no, it takes the purity right from the piece of or that changed to metal...all the ore has a chance to change to an iron bar, and lime increases this chance. If lime was used the metal bar will be average of lime and ore.
3)Objects that take only metal will be the same purity as the metal bars used. As for different effects on equipment from the different alchemical values, there is nothing like this in the game yet.

This brings up the question: how is it averaged out, ie if I use 5 lime and 20 ore, does the ore's purity get counted at 80% and the lime at 20%? Is the dross averaged out, too? (I have never ran a mine since I started playing around with Salem all... too many months ago.)

Dross and metal are averaged the same, a single piece of lime and 24 ore mixes the purity for the entire load the same as 24 pieces of lime and 1 ore does.

Anyone figured out how the accumulator function works? Ie, could I do a couple of runs of 25 lime to stack the odds for getting a bar in a limeless smelter?

I have a villager who figured out how smelters work. He can get a bar of iron out of a single piece of ore :3

The base formula the devs gave us for the smelters is wrong lol.

Jorb said there was a change to smelters a few months ago, but never really divulged the details on it
