Also don't play with Realak, Sittingbull, Bigwilly, or Judaism. They will all get you killed.

Why did you bring back a thread from the last world? Even updating the OP won't make this thread current as other people left comments too.

Because several new players have already thanked me for it. I made this thread to be able to copy and paste the thread when a new players tells me he's worried about dying in the game. It's easier than just answering a bunch of questions. The next time a noob asks you about the game just give her this.

This thread is absolutely relevant to this world.

I haven't died yet, even though I've played as a merchant hermit for a year and a half now. You have to admit, with the enemies I have, that's kind of impressive. :D

Good information. Added.

The clearest example of Rule #11 you'll ever see:

These guys broke Rule #11 along with some pretty sloppy scent leavings. In other parts of the thread other people broke the rule about being careful right outside the main town.

It's a good idea to find an absolutely flat area to settle into.. that way you can make a fence without disturbing the ground. Digging ground shows up on the map.

It's very handy to have a nice flat area for small claims that are hidden with no digging but for larger claims it's almost required. Cart speed and other things also require paving.

Having cart paths are going to be one of those trade-offs for having a hidden building. Of course, once a base gets to a certain size, it's going to be pretty hard to hide it.

I played with ALL of those people and none of them ever got me killed. Tip is worthless.
