I really just posted this to toss out some more data and vent a little at my disappointment. I vultured that single worm from a dead base and quickly bought the boards, thinking I would get far better results.
I have other worms I've been feeding, but nothing like that little beast.

Yeah I understand your disapointment.
Actually the guy who has several worms like you have would achieve very nice humus purity.
But noone post data like that.
And all those worms were produce before purity patch or fed with prepatch food.

kozzy680 wrote:I combined 4% clay 5% granite and 4%lime and = 2% pot ... WTF ?
Well never mind and .... I have planted tree and used 4% water and 2% humus ... = 0% green tree WTF ??
result with 10% pure worm and compost bin from this wood = 0% humus ??? I dont get this system.

The way pot purity works is well understood.
don't look at purity but alchemical value (salt, mercury, etc)
The clay you produce from dirt is :
clay = 0.99 * water + 0.01 * lime.

Pot = 0.33*clay + 0.33*lime + 0.33*granite or (clay+lime+granite)/3

Then if you wonder about purity, it s much more complex to anticipate. A 40 lead something can have higher purity than a 45 lead something, depending of the other 3 values.
As anesig said just before, you can use the wiki formula :
[(Salt^2 + Merc^2 + Sulp^2 + Lead^2)-.25]*(4/3)

I know there was some example, and I found one of yours.

Can you tell us where you are now? With your bin purity aswell?

What kind of info are you looking for burseig?

I'd be happy to post my current setup/value if there is interest. (Solo Hermit, just started farming when all this hit, found a few nice boosts from searching abandoned camps).

Well atm I've planted my 4th generation of cuttings being 7% pure. And I don't care about the little gain from alchemy.

Thanks for valuable reply. I put all formulas from forum to excel. It shows that we have to speak about elements rather total purity when doing math. Still does not explain why Im getting such ***** results. Another test:
13% pure pyton 7x in old 0% pure conpost bin. pytons green element all at 50%.
Resulting humus 31% green element total purity = 1%. I would expect at least about 35% thats average of 50 and 25. Looks like compost bin has higer weight than worms.

What was odd is that when Iv combined all materials with min 40% green element I got resul 33% of green element pot. Next Iv put in about 35% green element water humus planted tree and got 29% green element tree wtih 0% purity.
Next time I replant this tree I guess I get bit closer maybe get 30% green element kind of same formula as feeding worms.

How is one supose to make any pure **** without cheating with old prepatch items ? Even 5% humus has to be nearly imposible.
All that 7% pure logs we see in shops not are made just from 95% pure humus and 90% pure worms feeded by prepatch food I bet.
Now I understand why do people quit salem after purity patch.

Well, your last post totally breaks my idea that each one's multiplier affects the other one's weight, but perhaps it's the square root of multipliers that affects them. so [worm_element * sqrt(bin_multiplier) + bin_element * sqrt(worm_multiplier)] / ( sqrt(bin_multiplier)+sqrt(worm_multiplier) ) might be more accurate. Also I'm considering the actual bin purity to be the purity of the humus that comes out of the bin without worms. So bin_element = (wood_element + 25*2.5) / 3.5

But I stopped looking at bins and worms ages ago, so good luck to anyone that wants to check the theory :P

Didn't read whole thread, but:
0% compost bin, 7phytons all 80% 92 sulphur = 31,6 sulphur humus. If I left 6 phytons = 31.8sulp, 5 phytons = 32,5sulp, 4 phytons = 33,1sulp. WTF?

Okay, I have some new numbers. I stumbled upon some nice green and blue boards in Roanoke stalls, so a big leap there. Which is fortunate, since I reached the cap on raising tree purity for those colours. Lack of good humus made the latest planted generation actually go down in purity.

Compost bin 1 (salt)
wood purity: 14% (53.07/15.49/17.53/13.92)
p1: 76.22/5.89/8.13/9.78
p2: 75.86/6.55/8.20/9.39
p3: 75.70/5.63/4.97/13.70
p4: 74.78/7.54/7.73/9.96
p5: 74.26/6.95/8.58/10.21
p6: 73.69/6.86/8.69/10.79
w1: 97.66/1.11/0.90/0.33
resulting humus: 10% (49.10/16.61/17.77/16.53)

Compost bin 2 (Lead)
wood purity: 8% (15.32/18.52/19.95/46.22)
p1: 6.94/7.87/6.63/78.58
p2: 9.08/9.59/8.32/73.03
p3: 9.46/9.71/7.89/72.95
p4: 9.06/9.63/8.40/72.92
p5: 10.00/10.25/8.90/70.86
p6: 11.37/11.16/10.06/67.42
w1: 2.24/0.24/0.39/97.15
resulting humus: 7% (17.17/18.73/19.23/44.89)

Compost bin 3 (Sulphur)
wood purity: 9% (16.22/19.35/47.80/16.63)
worm efficiency: 84%
p1: 13.43/14.65/61.23/10.71
p2: 15.86/16.15/54.68/13.32
p3: 14.14/18.07/44.47/23.33
p4: 21.15/21.48/37.69/19.69
p5: 21.20/21.57/37.45/19.78
w1: 22.13/22.54/36.99/18.35
resulting humus: 4% (19.44/20.87/40.30/19.40)

Compost bin 4 (Mercury)
wood purity: 15% (12.11/54.66/19.12/14.13)
p1: 5.85/74.88/12.16/7.13
p2: 16.03/74.21/3.97/5.80
p3: 8.92/73.71/11.28/6.10
p4: 7.33/73.41/10.20/9.07
p5: 7.11/72.91/12.59/7.40
p6: 8.09/72.76/10.43/8.73
w1: 16.07/48.80/18.77/16.37
resulting humus: 10% (15.40/49.74/18.90/15.98)

Compare bin 4 to

Compost bin 5 (Mercury)
wood purity: 15% (same as bin 4)
worm efficiency: 32%
p1: 8.92/72.22/9.51/9.36
p2: 9.52/69.77/11.30/9.42
resulting humus: 4% (18.70/41.15/20.87/19.29)

It seems worm efficiency matters a whole lot.

I need better sulphur worms. wtb 2 blue legacy humus
