Interesting...

This adds some further credence to my suspicion that the Woo-Woo-Wand sees ALL!

Not really, I've found a 20% purity node which woo woo didn't find, but it found like 5 nodes in 1 minimap near, looking forward to check their properties.

Ok, now THAT is useful information! A node which is seen by a Rod but NOT the wand. What was the elemental composition of this ore?

I also look forwards to you checking the proerties of the variously detected other nodes.

Yes indeed, as I have STILL not found a node that my rod detected which my wand did not... though I havent done all that much scouting since that day I posted

Has anyone noted a chance for woo-woo wands to flat fail to detect a node it should be able to?
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.

no (since I don't use them anymore), but i have found that dowsing rods don't have a 100% spot chance: I located a node, went back to gather some hay for a leanto and it wasn't where it used to be. I left the maptile and came back, and this time I spotted it correctly.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

It has never happened to me that I would find a node with iron rods and it wasn't there later if I tried again with the same rods.

Also, I have seen quite a few nodes which were found by rods, but not by woowoo wand.

For anyone who's curious: The +/- 10 came from my villager back when he was testing the prospecting system. Since then its been confirmed by other groups a couple times, but we were the first ones to publicize the ranges through my guide.

I remember this because I originally guessed +/- 5 and got corrected by my miner and a couple others :D
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Nice to know, thanks. +-10 for Dowsing Rods sounds believable, but the the range is for Woo-Woo-Wands is clearly greater. I don't suppose you have any information about those that you've been holding out on us with? ;)

We never tested woowoos actually. We got our first mine and immediately started using dowsing rods. So no, I actually don't have any meaningful data on woowoos at all.
