Newbie woes

Postby Kaleb » Fri May 23, 2014 12:33 am

So I log in and some wonderfully caring person has intentionally planted a claim pillar next to my lean-to. the problem is, I can't move (trespassing not learned) and I can't portal to town.

This is someones idea of fun?

Anyone have a suggestion other than making a new character (which I have done now)

if you dump all your inventory... you still can't port to Boston? That's a bug... sorry... screwed.

Hrm, you should be able to turn on criminal acts even without trespassing and that should allow you to move so that you can exit the claim and move on.

But if you leave a scent you won't be able to create a new homestead... for 2 weeks.

1 scent is 24 hours, also don't leave your lean to unsecured on unclaimed land and you wouldn't have that problem.

It is, in my opinion, better to leave a trespassing scent as a new player than it is to lose a character. The benefits to your escape outweigh the cost and risk.

A trespass scent isn't summonable, so you will be relatively safe if you just walk a fair distance away before you log out. Like half an hour or so. I don't think you have to wait a full two weeks on just a single crime. You will have to go a day before you homestead a new leanto, though.

But if he's a new peep... likely his last lean too will be readily accessible near Boston... and could be possibly camped or summoned.

Truly best he can hope for is to transfer what little gear he has to a new alt...and start over...before the 'main' is destroyed.

It's their choice either way, as long as they know their options. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't any risk but effectively killing/abandoning your own character and starting over is exacting the worst case scenario on yourself.

Again Frakked showed big knowledge about game. Congrats on that.

But about topic. I solved problem. When making next character consider signing treaty.
Thanks for full fishermans pack.
P.S. I gave you 3 days to run or sign Treaty but you didnt take any actions.
