some culture here!
many of you must have heard of "Haiku", japanese short poetry, and "Senryū" is a similar type of short poetry but usually its more about irony and black jokes from the daily events. so i decided to make this thread to gather your great sarcastic Salem Senryu.
<original example>
Dorobou wo
Toraete mireba
wagako nari

The robber
when I caught him
my own son
senryu is less strict on rules, i.e. you dont need a season word, nor cutting word, dont worry about 5/7/5 thing too much either. (i cant count morae in english anyways, so lets skip that.)
just make sure that you have certain rhythms and good sarcasm in there that others can understand and enjoy reading. never make it long.
*pro tip*
dont try to explain the situation in the poem itself, but try to draw readers' imagination with right words!
(if you feel it may need some explanations for readers, do it outside the poem.)
here is another that sabinati made a while ago, which i couldnt resist to use for my signature.
infinite branches
two leaves on a maple tree
welcome to salem
here is another i just made.
An indian feather
Detour around a long tall cliff
Forever loading
please show your wits!
*edit*
those who made it on the paper will receive a fancy small virtual medal designed originally, senryu version, that you could use in your signature to show your contribution to the Courant if you want.
The Order of Senryu
