Well I started the game a few days ago, love it - had some great adventures ( one of which may or may not involve a bear sitting in the middle of my claim)

So I'm set up with a friend, he owns the lands, but he's been gone for the better part of the last days, and I think I may be stuck with a claim I can't expand . So a thought of re-rolling passed my mind.


But where to go? I'm currently on Roa, but judging by the forum activity It seams like Plymouth is the more politically active server... On one side Roa has ganking Ruskies but they don't seam to leave the darkness much, on Plymouth there is promise of adventure but the Indian taxes is what effectively scared me off the server when I was fresh faced about a week ago. ( Courtesy to Paul, the friendly Indian Mook err I mean TAX COLLECTOR)


So... Suggestions?

Roanoke has almost 2x the population as Plymouth and has far more factions for balance. "Ganking ruskies" as you phrase it, mostly keep to themselves unless you attack their interests first. The larger Russian groups have been known to negotiate as well. My suggestion is to join a group on Roanoke or start your own claim and stay on Roanoke where you already have a character started.

Plymouth is the only "real" server and will most likely be the only one left standing once cross-server travel opens up. If Salem were Disneyland then Roanoke is effectively Toon Town. Sure its technically in the park but the rides are simply there to amuse those whose brains are not fully developed.

I'd go with Russians, when they raid they just loot, they don't burn down what they don't need.

I'll be honest I have no idea why people ***** about the cost of the tax the tribe has people pay especially for new players! If someone is new the game and they finally get that wonderful claimstone up you will probably being paying only like 150-300 silver for the first month. That will not take a lot of time to that much silver and boom you got insurance for your first month congrats how does it feel to have the most powerful people on your side?

So overall I would say go Plymouth and pay the tax man, it is not that much and won't take long for you to earn that money back.
