make a poll, ask the community?

So I figured it'd be interesting to see. The idea being that we would either:
-Use an auction house type feature in the main towns, anyone buying/selling their goods in one location with no stall ownership
-Keep the stalls the way they are/potentially just add more stalls per world
-Keep stalls the way that they are now but adding a trade feature between players themselves. (Right click > trade > both confirm the trade)
-Removing stalls completely and just having trade between players implemented
-Keeping trade the way that it is now

(8:16:06 PM) Vigilance: Auction House + Stalls
(8:16:11 PM) Vigilance: with auction house taking a larger tax

I'd like it if there were just like 3 stalls, and you just bought each slot, the number of which was infinite. It'd make trading anonymous which might be a plus.

The rent for each slot scales with how close the stalls are to center.

Pretty much everything else is the same though.

I'd like an auction house in Boston, with a really heavy tax. As for stalls, none in Boston, but players should be able to build them on their claims. Also, stalls must be able to both sell and buy goods.

I agree with all of that but I'd like to see "stall claims" if that were the case. Can't break/steal from the stall but can walk through the claim freely since the outside of boston would be spammed with stall p claims otherwise

Also typo in one of the options with* instead of will*

I don't think it's necessary. If you build a marketplace with plenty of braziers and a long way out of it, the loss to shoplifters should be minimal. IMO having relatively secure stalls should take substantial infrastructure, and people shouldn't spam stalls willy-nilly.

We had that in Dis but it required set times for us to allow the general public inside to shop and we had to guard the entire time. Would almost be better to just trade face to face in that case

You also had no security measures besides the guarding/walls. This is not H&H. If you spam braziers you should be able to ko someone by the time they get to the end of the claim.

Yes, after posting I thought about it more. You can also access stalls from a distance here making it possible for people to stand outside and still shop. I agree with the idea now

If you build a spiral entrance around the whole market you can get a lot of fire from a modest amount of braziers.

Anyway, you'll still be able to steal a few things and avoid aggroing the braziers. We could also have tiers of stalls with different aggro sensitivity, and theft artifices to counter them. So while you might still be able to steal an item or two from high end stalls, you'd be stuck with no combat artifice if caught in the act.

I would love to see some creative markets being setup

I'd make mine 8 layers high and sell nothing but crabs
