President Erdogan (who hired disgraced former NSA head Michael Flynn to secretly lobby as a foreign agent while he was receiving intel briefings with Trump during the Transition) is using ex-pat Turkish immigrants (most who have EU citizenship or work visas but maintain dual citizenship in Turkey) in the Netherlands and Germany to try and pump up excitement for his political party and attack the EU who is threatening sanctions for his massive hard-line crack down on thousands of judges, lawyers, teachers, reporters, newspapers and opposition party members following the attempted coup last year. The coup leaders are now in the EU after fleeing to Greece so Erdogan blames the EU for hiding them and the U.S. for hiding Gulan, who Erdogan blames for the coup but probably had nothing to do with it.

What we're watching is the political fallout of Turkey becoming more religious and closer to Russia while giving up on ever becoming part of the EU while Erdogan tries to seize power in a political takeover in April which will vastly increase his powers.

TLDR Erdogan's party wanted to have a political rally in the Netherlands to protest against possible EU sanctions and was denied.

The Sanctions will happen. The Netherlands right wing parties will do better than expected in the upcoming elections. Erdogan's political party will distract from their becoming authoritarian and Turkey will become more anti-EU and hardened against NATO and EU connections while becoming closer to Russia which helps Erdogan and his cronies win the April Authoritarian vote to give Erdogan a massive power grab (all of which of course helps Putin hurt NATO).

The REAL DEEP THOUGHT on all of this is if Putin is paying Erdogan with massive oil pipeline deals to have him intentionally stir up Turkish immigrant protests/riots in the EU so as to help right-wing parties in the upcoming elections this spring and summer in the Netherlands, France and Germany. If he succeeds in using Erdogan, Turkish nationalism and the threat of mass release of millions of immigrants that Turkey holds from emigrating to the EU to promote right wing nationalism in Europe, he'll further weaken the EU and NATO.

Turkey has a referendum in april to weaken the power of the constitution. As most probably are already aware, the current government is going insane after the attempted coup of 2016. As of right now most of the media outlets are fully in control and thousands of anti-supporters are in jail and such. Apparently regardless of this, it still is going to be a close call and thats why they are trying to influence Turks across Europe. There are around 6 million Turks living in European countries and they want to promote their party, they might need those votes to further strengthen their party and basically getting rid of a healthy democracy. The Turks that live outside Turkey are for some reason quite fond with Turkey, we for example here in the Netherlands have many Turks with two passports. These people are 3-4rth generation and born Dutch, yet feel more Turkish for whatever reason.

*A worthy note is that its not even allowed according own turkish law to campaign in foreign countries.

So Turkey is trying to ''inform'', ''its'' people in foreign countries by sending officials across Europe. So Turkey intended to send their foreign affairs minister here a couple days ago, however here it starts. The Netherlands removed landing rights after a massive social media call. Arguments were the public safety and order, let it be noted that instead of giving them the same card Germany, Austria and France did by giving them other excuses, the Netherlands straight up just removed landing rights. We ourselves are in a political election, it will be held tomorrow and most Europeans aren't exactly in favour of the recent Turkish actions.

So the Turkish government already announced sanctions against our country on CNN that was during negotiation with the Dutch government about the matter. So instead they called us out of being remains of the Nazism and all that crap alongside Germany. Note to say that we were bombed by the Nazi's wherever they wanted to campaign but who cares really. Anyway what they did instead was to send their family minister from Germany into our borders to hold some sort of speech anyway. So obviously that got intercepted and her acces was denied. She did not want to leave easily tho and took up a fight by remaining in her car for over 4 hours.

Turkey then mobilized people by protest in large quantity that evening at the consulate of Turkey to let her in anyway. So we had just gotten a relative large Turkish protest all because of this and it ended up in a strong reaction of the Dutch government. Instantly Turkey blew it up in the media and said that the consequences would be big.

It really seem that they wanted this reaction.

They are not crazy. They are rational in their own perspective.
Erdogan chose to play a strongman and he cannot afford to be treated like that by a small country, especially after he was able to bend Germany and whole EU according to his will (remember refugees ?).
He wants things to be his way, otherwise he would bullrun (unless he hits a wall, see shooting down the Russian plane).

Apparently using **** excuses like "there is not enough room" to block Turkish rallies worked way better.

And yes, I recall meeting a nice family of Belgs (while their faces cried: TURKEY) who believed that Erdogan is a nice guy and no Hitler at all and he just wants best for his people and he is helping to solve social problems (see Hitler's social program).

Putin has little to do with that, other than giving Erdogan a 1-to-1 lesson on how to sanction a country efficiently and what kind of sanctions Turkey is vulnerable to (see Russian plane shooting again).
I do not believe Putin will be used as a BAD GUY this time because it would not make sense to an average Joe, even if Russian diplomacy might be involved behind the scenes.

Well, it looks like the Dutch aren't as stupid or ignorant as the voters in the UK and America.

Apparently the Turkish political protests had little effect on the minds of voters.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/du ... ge%2Fstory

This is now 2 elections in a row, after the election in Austria, defeating Putin funded right wing populism movements in Europe. If France holds fast in May, that would point to the high point of the new populism being over and the Russian funded puppet parties being revealed for who they are.
