At least, a travel ban makes sense for many reasons.

There are bad people out there in the world and you also would not let bad people come to your home.
Yes it seems on first sight a judge about people who never did something bad and never would do it in future.
But if one people makes something bad, often other people would be hurted for it too.
If it is the german actor (Jasmin Tabatabai) who has passport of Germany and Iran, who can not travel to their family right now, just because she is born in Iran and came to germany when she was a kid.
Or if it is the militarian employee who has to stay on rooms, because one guy of his company made an bad mistake.
Or if it is the chilrdren who don't get sugar treats because her sister stole all from the cupboard even it was not allowed to take them.
Or just let all people of Salem block the way to Tier2 witches, because one of them was too greedy.

General punishments makes sense in communities to make them realize, that some things are not allowed.
But then you have to find a way to rehabilating innocent people and communicate this way.

To come back to the travel ban.
It can be a way to show the bad people, that it makes no sense to travel to the enemy and hurt them, because they don't want to be hurted.
And the innocent people will understand it, because they know why they want to go out of their countries and to find a safe place elsewhere. They know very well, that the posibility to travel is used by non innocent people and they are the first one who don't want to meet them in their choosed new home.

It might be hard on first sight, and i even say this as a very social thinking people, but on second sight it can be able to bring safety.

To Claeyt: You complain waaaay too much of your country just because the candidate you wanted didnt win. Is Trump perfect? Hell no but its looks like he is trying to make America great in his twisted way and you should be thankful of that. There are so many other countries that are in a very ****** state with government obsesed with ***** its own people. Its ok to question your government but there is a limit man. Just chill and see how things go before you go all crazy XD
I think most people in here can see what your new government is trying to do and agree with it way more than you do.

What retards like clay refuse to admit is that a vast majority of the US and world agree and support Trump. Now he will throw out polls which have proven to be extremely inaccurate that people don't approve while ignoring one official poll that had him with 61% approval. Then he is going to point to protest who are paid for by george soros and not supported by the local population. Almost everyone arrested during liberal riots are from out of town.

He has a very serious and dangerous mental issue.

I will never be thankful for him. This is the beginning of fascism in America as defined by Orwell and Arendt (Bullying, anti-democracy, anti-intellectualism, anti-immigrant, anti-minority, populism, nationalism). We must all fight this or be complicit for what happens next.

There is no limit to questioning your leaders in America. That's one of the truly great things about America. Trump is learning that quickly I think and he's also learning what a truly free judiciary looks like after today's Appellate court ruling maintaining and supporting the federal judge's indefinite stay of Trumpikin's EO.

Lest our foreign Salemites don't know, Trump's EO's or Execotive Orders are NOT Laws. They are HIS interpretation of the law (and his alone) and the laws he is charged to maintain. Most of these bizarre and radical EO's he's signed will be in court for years and will be mostly or partially overturned as they are not lawful as we can see from the Federal courts already holding them up. An example is his EO about the wall. He can sign as many as he wants but until congress funds it and approves it, nothing happens. There are several laws including the 1965 Immigration laws, which are our main source of immigration laws, that his 7 country EO does not follow. It'll be up to the Supreme court to decide what is correct.

What are you talking about?

First off. Yes we were at war in Iraq and Afganistan so we've dropped thousands of bombs. Bush dropped many, many more.

Second. Even if you include drone strikes we didn't "invade" dozens of countries under Obama.

Third. The U.S. has not killed millions of people during Obama. That's just nonsense. it's been estimated that as many as a million people have died during the invasion of Iraq and subsequent ongoing civil wars but that the estimates of deaths (enemy combatants and civilians) responsible to the U.S. vary from 25,000 to 100,000 for both Iraq and Afganistan.

Dallane wrote:But Obama's EOs are laws.

Don't be stupid.

I never said Obama's EO's are law. Many of his EO's were also overturned by the courts. Many of them are still up.

Again, an EO is the presidents interpretation of a law and his responsibilities within the law. It is not new law if it's Obama or Trump or whoever and can change with the administration as we see happening now.

Claeyt... Look up your facts please. Obama dropped more bombs than Bush and led us into war with more countries than Bush... Obama dropped over 26,000 bombs in 2016 alone in 7 different countries.
