Darwoth wrote:the reason pge can not keep the power on and has to pipe **** in from out of state + has the most assinine power costs in the country is because of that very same union. the reason we no longer have an automobile industry is because the unions demands on top of layers of other demands made it impossible to operate. the reason wide swaths of this country are so dumb is thanks to the teachers unions that among many other things make it a months long process to "fire" an under performing teacher who still receives various benefits.

unions served a purpose a long time ago when there were no safety checks, no labor laws, company tokens for pay and all the other **** from back in the day and they got many of those things implemented. however there are now government agencies that oversee workers rights/safety and i can not think of anything they have done since then except ruin their companies because they want 70 dollars an hour, stock options, retirement plans and full health coverage to glue in car seats and vote in democrats. the entire premise of a union is for a bunch of derps to try and tell the company owner how they are allowed to operate the company and how much he has to pay them and what manner of red tape he has to go through before he can fire them.

***** that ****, give me a couple of those harlan strikebreakers instead

edit: for those bored with time to kill, vintage americana. btw these people and their offspring are all entitled, rich and full of white privilege according to claeyt.

PG&E is a thriving company, its stocks have been on a steady increase for years now. In four years i believe there stock increased by 30 dollars. I would argue that California's high demand of real-estate and over regulation by liberals is responsible for the high prices of electricity. Which i think Trumps deregulation will stop. Also i think, one of the main things independents, working class and republicans and some dems. agree on is that it was NAFTA, Clinton and her Crony Caps. That lead to our manufacturing leaving.

Employment is a contract between two parties, employer and employee. If every single or most employees agree to strike because the employer is not fairly compensating the employees, then the employee can because they are not slaves. This means that a majority of the workers are willing to set aside their lively hoods and their family well-being as a finale act. This makes both party compromise and come to an agreement. Which means no government regulations. Two consenting parties agree to terms. Im surprised darwoth that you would be ok with government making regulation. Unions in my opinion are the backbone of the middle class. Somebody flipping burgers at 15 and hour cant buy a house or afford a decent car and dose our economy bad. But somebody in a well founded UNION has serious buying power, which helps the country.

Dont get me wrong though, Dal is right, Unions are not perfect. In the end some deals really do suck for one side.

who said i was ok with the government making regulation? are you referencing the different safety agencies and **** that the unions themselves helped create?

i simply do not support unions, i understand it is great for a union member as they are able to blackmail the employer into paying them three fold what their skill set is actually worth and all manner of side perks that should not be the employers problem. unions are a MASSIVE part of not just companies leaving the country en masse but also the overall problem of entitlement mentality in this country and is nothing more than socialism in the workplace. do not get me started on pge, as someone who has dealt with them for a number of years i am not a fan.

i do not think it should be "illegal" to form a union if that is what you are implying (if so dont know why, there are very few things i think should be illegal) merely pointing out how i view unions, the video i linked from 1975 or whatever really shows this sort of thing perfectly and how the more things change the more they stay the same.

a bunch of toothless 40 iq retards in the middle of nowhere that are lucky to even have a steady job at the coal company all of a sudden decide that how **** has been working is no good anymore and they want a bunch of free **** like the unions up north had secured, coal company says nope, union strikes, so coal company says np and exercises THEIR RIGHT TO HIRE SOMEONE ELSE to fill the slots at which point the communist "union" decides to do what they always do, which is riot and attack people (the replacement workers) so coal company says np and brings in a bunch of ww2 veterans as "strikebreakers" (two of which have beltfed 1919s    ) because the "heroic" union had bussed in a bunch of antagonizers from out of state and roadblocked the company and refused to let anyone in or out etc. (sound familiar? =P) it gets interesting from there, point is even through the heavy 1975 moonchild woodstock socialism vibe of a documentary that is trying HARD to paint the union as heroes you can still see the hard parallels between the union and say the ***** in berkely knocking over trashcans and macing people because trump got elected.

if i had a large company any union membership, talk of union membership, prior union membership or so on would be a no hire or fire situation. it is my company, not theirs. they are free to go find a different job or make their own damn company if they do not like mine but they sure as ***** are not going to dictate any thread of how i operate.

thought i would take a moment to throw shade at claeyt and drop the good ol "told ya so" that i get to enjoy every now and then.

Claeyt wrote:According to 7 federal judges now the immigration ban HAS broken the constitution.

as i pointed out on this forum months ago, the 9th circuit is a kangaroo court widely known as the biggest joke in the country anywhere in the legal realm, the sleazy lawsuit lawyers that are willing to sue anyone for anything have more integrity than the 9th circuit. they are 100% politically motivated liberal communists and violate their constitutional oath endlessly, they have the distinction of being by far the court that is most often overturned by the supreme court.

it was these jackoffs and a handful of individual lefty "activist" judges in some of the other "problem" federal courts that chose to put americans at risk for the past 6 months allowing an unknown number of potential terrorists into the country while they attempted to kill president trumps immigration ban via stalling it and falsely calling it unconstitutional.

as i said would happen, the supreme court has gotten to the case and declared that the ban is indeed perfectly legal under the constitution rejecting the ridiculously assinine claeyt claims.

the ban is now back in effect.
