Doesn't this things size and weight defeat the purpose of it being a laptop? Laptops are meant to be portable machines. If you want power, why not simply get a desktop? it'll run you cheaper as well.

Not everyone wants or has room for a desktop.
Not always cheaper depending on your needs.
Some people need a very powerful laptop to do work.
Aya, it is still portable. Regardless of it's size, it's still smaller and lighter than a desktop, so there is that.
