Any mmo or game played online with other people is going to require enough bandwidth to be affected by this.

Totally false. Stop being a idiot and learn to IT.

Wait, I just realized something, Claeyt wasn't supposed to be back for another 2 months. Is someone being nice for Christmas?

I changed my ban policy and Claety chanced to benefit from it. Feel free to PM me if you have further questions.

Yes, what I really need is a nice custom avatar, but I'm not sure what. Though I did rather like the Skeletor, lol, that was one of my faves as a kid.

How will it affect your bottom line if you do have to pay more? How is this going to affect our gameplay and your game?

Yeah, all or most of Obama's Executive Orders will probably be rescinded, which is exactly what should happen as the President is not supposed to have that power. Making laws is reserved to the Legislature.

I'm sure it will have no effect on MM whatsoever and I also doubt that there is much danger to anyone else either. A free market will sort these things out if the government will just butt out. None of those idiotic bailouts have done us any good as a country, that's for sure.

This isn't necessarily true for high speed internet since its infrastructure works similarly to that of a utility, meaning that proper competition that is necessary for a healthy market isn't really possible. Net neutrality is good for the same reason that power and water companies need oversight.

How is it a bailout to allow a federally created and owned utility like the internet not be monetized by ISP's so that large corporations can shoulder out smaller businesses like Mortal Moments for faster and better bandwidth.

It absolutely will affect MM when MM's ISP sends them info on how their bandwidth from their servers is going to be throttled unless they pay more like Riot and other huge gaming companies are prepared to do. Why would you think that MM won't be affected, this is going to affect everyone including individual users who will have to pick up the cost of high end sites.

You do realize that the letting the market do it's thing means that games like Salem and other indi games are then overwhelmed by larger gaming companies. Imagine if all of a sudden Salem was cut out of all the big gaming sites and only large scale companies willing to pay were allowed on them.

Here's some articles from the fight in 2014 about how Trump killing net neutrality next year will affect gamers:

The fact you linked kotaku as a source destroys your already wrong opinion.

why do liberals think it is a sin for a company to have the freedom to charge what they want for their services? competition always irons these issues out without the need for a marxist making a law about it, back in dialup days the exavt same thing happened, my first internet connection started getting stupid on their prices so the local chain of movie rental stores fronted the cash to set up and provided a far better connection for a quarter of the price, the original isp went out of business less than two years later as others started doing the same.

apparently you forgot that for the majority of the internets history there was no net neutrality *****, somehow we all managed just fine.

yet no concern of any kind about oblahma giving the internet away to foreigners who have publicly stated they have no intention of adhering to freedom of speech/information.

It's not. I was referring to other bad economic moves the government has made, giving tax money to failing companies just to keep them going.

I think that letting the market do its thing is not the problem you think it is. That's a fundamental difference between our political beliefs, I suppose. I see no reason to think that larger gaming companies will crowd out smaller ones because it would be very stupid for ISPs to do that. They would lose money both because there are very few very large customers and because someone else will always step up with cheaper internet if there's a market for it.
