I'm both a fan of making the game more difficult, but I'm also a fan of seeing more people playing the game. This new update doesn't add any difficulty to those who are already rich and prospering (Just buying a wool blanket or wearing their already amazing clothes). To add onto that, Hypothermia affects the two most important parts of the game for a new person. If you have gotten far enough in the game you will see that most the stuff you need gets farmed, like cotton for money, and its easier to hunt when bunnies die in one hit and your butcher skills allow you to get plenty of meat and bones. A new player now has to move around from animal to animal slowly and then after using plenty of their yellow bile, have to eat and watch it slowly regen until they can fight another bunny. Then they have to continue moving around slowly to forage... Does anybody else think the new update kinda turns off new players? Or is it just me..

As the game is now ,any player could make enough jute gear to make himself warm enough not to get the debuff during coldsnap.
The only thing you need to do is to have every piece of gear slotted and you are good to go.
Obviously, if you make your own gear good luck slotting it, but beside that anyone can make a starter set to keep himself warm. Anyone.

I was not talking about new players exploring the mountains, that is not wise and not recommended.

My gear is fully slotted, fisherman's coat, trappers boots, fishermans pants, frontierman's duster, miners helm and plague doctors mask. I have hypothermia and the number is 96. If i want to get rid of this i have to wear my hunter set. (What was listed before was my miner set, so i'm using it to mine then going back to hunter)

Where is your cape?
Just wear a set that helps you avoid hipotermia for the time being.
You will craft something better soon. Do not be one of those who just complains about everything new to the game.

Geez you are just like my mom... complaining and asking a question are both two different things. And everything I stated isn't supposed to be a "Eww I hate this update" type of feeling. More along the lines of "Was this really a good option?" I'm not even sure if my opinions are even expressed in that post, just facts.

Just get a Cape and hypothermia is no problem.

Well everything I'm hearing now is kinda strengthening my point. This is my girlfriend with all of her slots filled with clothing and items. Plenty of weaving related items on it as well and shes cold. I for one love the challenge but again as the original post was MEANT to be for. Is this really best for new players?
