Lexus Hoverboard, adapted 100 year old tech finally makes a somewhat amusing toy, Well it's just a matter of figuring it out It was just a matter of time.

Please note, this board cannot be used outside the skatepark, the water in the vid is very very shallow and the fuel last a very very short time.

#6 top nerds toy made

I'd love to try this thing out, but I was never a very good skater (prefer the snow to concrete).

Things I see next:

As always, once it's been built, it'll be opened to the public for somebodies profit

The parks will be built around the world, even if the parks are much more limited than normal (for now)

We'll see hoverboarders on the X-Games

He has made 2 boards, and it is a personal playground for the owner of lexus, to show off.

Might be that to start, but it never ends there.

Well, in the automobile world, it often does, but we're not talking about a specialty car. There are those out there that really want this to be a thing. I can't see how it won't become at least a destination activity in cities like Paris, Tokyo, LA, etc similar to the way people travel to go snow skiing and boarding. Hell, people will drop $100 at the Long Beach pier for a single bungie jump over the ocean, and that was the last time I was there in the late 90s.

Have you seen what buying a Honda funds? Buying an overpriced toy funds more overpriced toys. Buying a practical car funds "practical" research like robotics and fancy Segways. (Don't forget Lexus is owned by the Toyota group, so could say that buying any Toyota is the same thing.)

Guys, we all know this is somewhat fake right, humans are idiots and are far from pulling something like this off without a track orso. I have seen several of those ''hoverboard'' video's lately. Super conductors have been around awhile already.

This guy isn't doing anything new. if he could make it hover at room temperature, then it would be something to gawk at.

If you saw someone floating in a vertical wind tunnel, would you say that the person is flying?

It is not necessarily fake but it is quite a large misleading statement to say it is a hoverboard. The video does not say anything about the technology behind it nor the fact that this 'board' was moving on a specially designed track.

Enjoy it for its entertainment value but forever be skeptical of claims by Lexus if they are willing to spit in your face and tell you its raining.
