the madening madnes

ok seriously this is getting to be ridiculous the madness mechanic needs to be revamped ASAP, It punishes new players way to much, i have been playing for 3 weeks now and am at madness lvl6
i have read all i can find on the subject and am 100% sure its not me that's doing something wrong. I whittle daily, fish, pick flowers, hunt butterflies but it does not help at all it just keeps increasing, the teadybears are super hard to get( for beginners ) and the tool tip does not even hint at items ability to lower madness lvl as for tobacco expensive and takes to long to get

so let me say it once more. Just because the old players know their way around the game and therefore "working as intended" doesn't mean that the mechanic is balanced properly for new players
please dev's reconsider and revamp madness gain and mitigation

You clearly are not doing those things if your madness level is going up. Doing all of this will lower your insanity and should never get any madness. That or maybe you are doing something else to bring it back up.

There are many things not explained in this game. Thats the point. We are left to discover whats in the game with vague details. You will find that there are MANY undiscovered things in the game.

discovery and explanation are not the same thing. As i said my main point is that its too punishing on new players

I don't think it is. If you want something to change in this game then you need to give examples of why and how it should be changed. Else John will more than likely think that you don't understand how madness works and are just complaining.

It takes one day of chipping stones to gather enough geodes to get in the den. If you don't want to chip the stones for them you could easily farm silver and buy them from a player stall. The teddy bears take far less than a day of gathering silver to purchase. The easiest way to negate madness is make frikadels as work food as they require both whittling and cooking. Now I have to tighten my cilice before John tells me to and I have to go two notches.

FORGIVE ME FATHER FOR I HAVE SINNED!

Maybe you don't sleep in bed (it reduces insanity) or maybe you got something which increases insanity (traces of last colony for example) and didn't notice it
