DS madness mechanics are less dangerous because you can get rid of it by just wearing flower hat and by picking flowers

Yes. It does. It's unintended, but remember that solitary new players:

1) Have to walk a lot to find a good location to settle;
2) Are not fully aware of madness mechanics (hell, they don't know even how to make wrought iron or build an oven);
3) When they get some madness levels it's annoying difficult to lower madness since they can't enter the Den and can't mine geodes (theyr "costly" pickaxe will break).

If they're aware of things that raise and decrease madness they're good, but that is not the case. The solitary newbie is still thinking where to build his base, how to protect it, and which skills to get first.

And please don't say that it's ok to loose your first char with madness within 1~3 weeks of playing. Players can find a reasonable way in all other difficulties in this game - but in the SPECIFIC case I'm speaking they can't. The DEVS are ignoring the fact that not much solitary newbies use this forum and the system is actually pretty boring for them - an additional barrier to play the game.

(Personally at the moment my char has no problem with madness, but I needed to stop playing for days and I needed help from a vet. Almost stopped playing)

I would like to be able to play while mad because it adds variety. Honestly i think madness is okay the only thing that ruins it is tool breaking. I suggest that psychotic episode is moved to madness level 5+ because it's the most game breaking and op

While walking and looking for a place, those newbies should still be spending their initial inspiration pretty much constantly and getting skills. Don't forget that this game is aimed at a particular type of person and not everyone who starts playing here will like the game and keep playing. We accept that. Now, maybe the one or two of you suggesting that PE should have tiers have a point, but I doubt it'll happen. There's just too much general whining for us to get a good bead on making a madness mechanic change that is fair and works.

The problem is that the crying players are still posting the same complaints when other players AND devs have explained how madness is thought for new players as well! If you are a noob looking for a good place you are still foraging flowers, making pointy sticks and cooking, all of those activities help keeping the madness down and even if I said it as a joke, if you cant make affluence sets try grinding silver and try to buy either geodes or clothing from advanced players. Even if you are playing solo this game has a big community now and there are some that are willing to help. So if you dont have any different complaints please stop posting here

This mechanic has been released for months. What makes you little nubs think just because something is hard for you the devs will change it? Well I see the tears keep flowing so the water tower has been made. Fear not salemites we will never have a drought.

I have never had a problem except when I did things I knew would cause problems, really. It doesn't even really seem that hard, honestly.
