It's not really that Pay2Play that sucks there itself, but that it's still Alpha and somewhat "amateur indie game" so you'd expect some sort of more professional staff working and patching/solving bugs/restarting servers/etc 24/7 which most likely isn't the case there.

I definitely think that Russians like VVindy and the CoD guys are going to be back over here pretty soon so build up those defenses.

Apparently they're being DDOS'd by at least 2 groups on the new server. One guy talked about doing it in some chat which was reposted on the mega-thread. I'm guessing that we're going to be seeing more HnH players over here if all this keeps up and they don't cancel the subscription plan.

I can understand the Sadness about a payment model in cause of the ability to pay.
But look, there are two devs that spent so many hours, days, month, years for your gaming fun.
Why not pay them?

They should absolutely make money off the game. They just chose the worst possible way to spring it on the playerbase and then chose a dumb way of trying to make money.

Salem's system is pretty good and I have zero problem with how they run the store. I was worried about JC when he first bought the game and started trolling some of us but he's mostly stopped all that and they've really improved the feel of the forums and they ARE active dev's.

I was really surprised to hear Jorb tell us they've only made around $3000 dollars in donations over the last 7 years. I thought they'd have made more. That's nothing to what Salem's store brought in over the last year from what I've worked out. I'm sure Salem is still a part time job for all our dev's and it's split more ways but at least they make some money at it and it has a lot more room for growth and new players than HnH will ever have now.

I enjoy this drama. IF I actually liked Hafen, I would definetly pay for it, I love how they handled the cash-shop, I could only wish this was the case for Salem.
I'll verify my Hafen account just to support Jorb & Loftar, even though I don't like (some aspects of) their new baby.

I don't think prices are that high, a casual has more than enough with a verified account, which is a 1 time investment.

A hardcore player can buy a yearly subscription as low as 6$ / month for unlimited playtime, which is very cheap!!

Any other item in store are non-required expenses, so if you like the game, you buy more expensive packs or items.

I don't care about Haven. But I will say that if Salem had a monthly fee on top of the current style pay2win store (I say that with love, because it works), I wouldn't play Salem.

So if Haven is doing store perks/pay2win, on top of monthly, with their permanent trial...

We can be sure, at least, however it goes, that Salem can learn from Haven's mistakes. Not sure the end result but I am confident we won't get that treatment here. This is AMERICA!

This is where the retarded 15 year old's with their parent's debit card comes into play "hurr durr" you're dumb and poorfag, but what they don't realize is many countries can't afford it due to obvious factors involved, mainly the fact that not all currency is the same, and they're not putting that into account by converting it to a cheaper option for those countries, so maybe the guy with shekels can easily afford it, but alakhbiieur with his sand money can't.
