First, you claim the tribe is awful because they play by the rules of the game and the devs need to step in and change things. But the rules are the same for everybody. If you don't like it, bring your own characters around and force a change. Protect those newbies you seem so concerned about. I say seem because this is clearly just another instance of Claeyt trying very badly to make propaganda.

Claeyt, you're talking like you saw the whole thing happening. Like you were there from the very beginning. You watched a clueless guy who decided to stream his gameplay before he really knew what the game was about, bring in a bunch of new players and lead them off claim to his little camp, which must have been just outside of Boston. If you were so concerned about them, why the ***** didn't you say to the guy, "Hey twitch guy, don't lead players off claim, you'll only get them killed. I'll buy you a claim so you can teleport them a bit more safely". Or maybe you could have said, "Hey twitch guy, it's dangerous to lead players off claim because they'll probably die. Have them go with empty inventories so they can immediately teleport back to Boston of anyone shows up".

If you were so very concerned about new players getting the kid glove treatment, you should have done it yourself. Otherwise, they should learn as soon as possible just how dangerous this game is. If they got killed as 5/5/5/5 newbies with no skills and that was enough to drive them away, they weren't going to stay anyway, but you could have at least given them a warning.

Clearly, you didn't help them because you knew very well what would happen and you wanted it to happen. You wanted them to all die so you could post this thread pretending anger at the tribe for 'ruining the game' when it's players like you who are really responsible.

Excellent point, for someone supposedly so concerned he did nothing to help them. Now he's crying for the sake of crying.

I'd just like to add, as someone who was part of the stream, that I do enjoy the game, and find permadeath okay. If I die, I die, thats part of the game. However, if its done for no particular reason; if its done to people who don't have a chance in the world to fight back...I think I'd be less inclined to try again rather than if I died some other way. Your generalization of 'if they leave after dying they weren't going to stay' is utterly terrible and in no way true whatsoever to what could actually happen, and probably wound have, if this crap didn't happen in the first place.

Wait, please explain again who is trying very badly to make propaganda? The entirety of the Tribe's existence in this game has been mostly about "scalping" new players. Finally we get overwhelming evidence on a larger scale of how this play style can and does affect the game's development, the facts are right there in front of your face and still you choose to deny the truth.

But it's not done for no particular reason. Killing people in this game is one of the fun things to do, whether they are advanced players or newbies. And since this is a sandbox, there are no artificial constraints against it. Right now, the tribe is on top and so doing most of said killing, but without them around, there would be just as much killing of newbies. Probably more, since the treaty gives protection to anyone who wants to opt out. That's how it was before the tribe, and that's how it will remain even if the tribe disappears tomorrow. This is not farmville.

You can't seem to keep your argument straight. It wasn't done for no reason, you just don't like the reason.

Is there anything else you'd like to teach us about the game you've played for both hours?

I do admit I find a strange mentality here. A mentality of fending for oneself is above all else, and no matter what happens, in the end you're just another waste of space. If more games had that mentality, I think they might be as 'popular' as Salem is.

Alternatively, you guys could, you know, be supportive of new players? Give them a little assistance, point them in the right direction, even if you later kill them fair and square, because thats part of the game.

Right now you're just saying 'toss them into the firepit, they'll be fine' and not even giving a people a chance to get their sealegs for how this game works before utterly destroying them. That doesn't help your game get people, that helps it die. And whether you want to admit it or not, being supportive attracts more people to play than being cold and unforgiving. I can only hope you'll realize that before Salem inevitably shuts down.

Also, Neored, you can't seem to understand my argument. Let me make it simple; Getting killed in a game with permadeath: Okay. Getting killed in a game with permadeath for no reason besides the sake of killing you: Not okay. Thats still some generalization there myself, but obviously if I try to explain it any better it doesn't make sense to you.

Many of the players claiming it's only your own fault are also ones who most certainly had a better start to the game than this, of that I am sure. Why all of the sudden they don't give a **** about the new player even if they struggled being one themselves is a mystery to me. There's also a bunch of people that joined the Tribe later on even when in the past they argued against their stupid tactics and now they have a big head. Perhaps setting down a forum waste claim will allow logic to penetrate their thick skulls.

No. You're doing what's called an appeal to emotion, instead of using logic or reason you cry and say "look at my pain!" in the place of a legitimate complaint or injustice. What happened to you is the process to weed out the people that aren't cut out for this game. You can stop posting now and threaten to never come back and how sorry I'll be when the game dies. I, and everyone like me, will persist. You will be forgotten soon enough.
